PUPPETS IN GOD'S HANDS"The king's heart is in the hand of Here we are on the anniversary of the attack on America, known as 9/11. Little did we realize how blessed we have been to live in a nation of freedom and liberty, exercised without fear. We gave little thought to what we had until we lost this freedom, carried out in trust and confidence before 9/11. Years ago while in service, a friend told me that one doesn't know what it's like to be up, until he's been down. I've always remembered that, and how true it is. We take so many things for granted, and it often takes a tragedy for us to stop and see the beauty of what we have; or maybe what we had! We are blessed as a nation to have friendly and supportive neighbors like Canada and Mexico on our borders. On 9/11, to the surprise of many, we found that there are people who hate us, even in the name of religious beliefs, who would love to kill, destroy, or force us under their religious bondage. Sad but true, if it wasn't for God's blessing of military power endowed upon this nation, we would be victims of this hate. We are so fortunate to live in a nation, that believes in the true God, whose love extends to all the world, and that Jesus Christ is the Savior of all who call upon HIM. God doesn't force us to accept His free gift of salvation through HIS Son Jesus Christ. Instead He loves us, and invites us to HIM, but we must receive HIM by sincere faith. II Peter 3:9 tells us that, "The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance." Never think for a moment that God is old, senile, out-of-touch, or incapable of keeping every promise that he has made. He is waiting for YOU! Thanks and God bless! Pastor Earl Beal |
