TRUE LOVE BRINGS ACTION"And this love, that we walk after We live in a time where the word "love" is used so freely, that we have lost the real meaning. People today love their car, house, dog, cat, sports team, and so on, yet to find someone who loves God and people, can be hard. When a word is used cheaply, it can become less effective. The Bible tells us that love is much more than lip service. In I Jn. 3:18, it tells us, "...Let us not love in word, neither in tongue; but in deed and in truth." If our children or spouse was constantly abusive and disrespectful, yet constantly claiming to love us, we would find a mixed message. True love does right! God's love for us motivated Him to unselfishly sacrifice for us. God's love in itself was not enough. God is a just, holy, true, and loving God, all mixed into one. Working harmoniously and inseperably, together at one time. Jn. 3:16 says, "For God so loved the world..." But He could not stop there! "...that He gave His only begotten Son..." A just God could not overlook sin and the penalty it earned. He could not turn His head. He had to offer a substitution for us. "...that whosoever believeth on Him should not perish..." God paid for our sins at His expense. He offered to all, "...but have everlasting life," that would receive the free gift, that cost the supreme price. Our need to be justified before God is serious business. Gal. 2:16, "Knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law, but by the faith of Jesus Christ." Thanks and God bless!
