CONGRATULATIONS GRADUATES!"There be four things which are little upon the Here we are before we know it, watching those little neighbor kids, cousins, brothers and sisters, walk down the aisle to receive that much welcomed diploma. Let me just share with you from the Bible four (4) "wise guys" that God gave the distinction of being exceeding wise. WHY? Prov. 30:25 tells us, "The ants are a people not strong, yet they prepare their meat in the summer." Here we see that God in His creation has placed a valuable lesson for us to learn. The ant acknowledges his weakness, and compensates by preparation ahead of time. The ant isn't like the lion who can wait until 11:45 a.m. and go get lunch by noon. When winter comes, the ant is taken care of because he "made hay while the sun was shining." The Bible tells man that he has a weakness called sin. If we fail to acknowledge this and prepare now, we will find winter or "eternity", an unwelcomed plight. Young people, remember God now in your youth. The next "wise guy" is in vs. 26: "The conies are but a feeble folk, yet they made their houses in the rocks." A conie is a rock badger. He is wise, in that he realizes that he has an enemy for which he is no match. He realizes that he is weak and unable to defend himself against his enemies. In his wisdom, he has found a rock to put his trust in. He knows that the rock never moves, and that he must stay near to it. Like King David said in Ps. 18:2, "The Lord is my rock, and my fortress, and my deliverer; my God, my strength..." My friends, wisdom is when we depend upon the Lord, not ourselves. Please join me next week as we look at the last two wise guys. Thanks and God bless! Pastor Earl Beal |
