PULLING OUT INTO ETERNITY"He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath Decisions, life is full of them! If you're like me, you have made some good ones, and some not so good ones. Some we think out, and others we make quickly. Some we reason with, while others we chance. I can assure you that there are some that I am very careful about. They warrant a sure and clear path, with assurance of success. One, is when I am pulling out into a busy intersection and ask my wife, "Honey, is anything coming?" A couple of answers that would not be acceptable are, "I don't think so," or "I hope not!" Sorry, but I'm not going to pull out. Why? The consequences of error are too great and the answer leaves doubt. Eternity is another decision that I am very picky about. My eternal destiny deserves more than a guess, or half-hearted attempt to avoid hell and gain heaven. In I Jn. 5:13 it says, "These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may KNOW that ye have eternal life." That we can KNOW? Of course, why wouldn't God want you to know that you have eternal life? How could one have the peace of God that passeth all understanding if we are not sure that heaven is our home? The Bible is so clear, that our hope is not in our little bucket of good deeds, but in the finished work of Jesus Christ at Calvary. Never be fooled by a false assurance in what you have done, but take the gift provided, by what He has done. Thanks and God bless! Pastor Earl Beal |
