ARE YOU A GOD FEARING PERSON?"The fear of the Lord is the The Bible, God's word, is clear as always in teaching us what we need to know and understand to grow in our spiritual life. So many people fail to see God as God: one whom we are to answer, and conform to, instead of us telling Him to conform and listen to our ways. In I Cor. 1:25 it says, "...the foolishness of God is wiser than men; and the weakness of God is stronger than men." Have you ever been guilty of trying to get God to obey you, instead of you obeying God? Is. 55:9 is so true when it says, "For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts." Many people make the mistake of going to the Bible to change it, instead of letting the Bible change them. In Pr. 8:13, we find God's definition of the fear of the Lord: "The fear of the Lord is to hate evil; pride, and arrogancy, and the evil way, and the froward mouth, do I hate." I've heard it said that if you love flowers, you must hate weeds. Don't you see, God hates sin because He loves the sinner. Sin, like weeds, will destroy the fruit of the seed that is so precious. Could it be possible that some of the things we call blessings in our lives are actually weeds that are choking out the fruit? Sometimes a weed can look like a flower, and we can mow around them, only to one day discover we were fooled. Ask my wife! Thanks and God bless! Pastor Earl Beal |
