LOVING OUR YOUTH

"Train up a child in the way he should go: and when
he is old, he will not depart from it." Prov. 22:6

As we look across the plains of America, we can without hesitation or question be sure that our greatest blessing from God is our children. The future of this country lies in the youth of America. They are the families of tomorrow, yet so many parents look at their children as if they have no idea what to do with them. The Word of God is filled with teachings on how to raise godly children. Godly children do not happen by chance but by responsible and obedient choices from God's Word. The Bible quickly speaks of Satan's attack upon man, the fall of man, and also the spiritual battle which is raging. Eph. 6:11 says, "Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the WILES of the devil." Wiles means that the devil is crafty and cunning. He entices us with lures that are attractive to the weak flesh. Inside of the tempting lures are sharp hooks that Satan uses to reel us in. Prov. 1:10: "My son, if sinners entice thee, consent thou not," speaks of those who try to pull you down the path of sin. We are no match for Satan and his schemes. Without God's Word to teach us how to put on the whole armour, we will be destroyed. Eph. 4:27 says, "Neither give place to the devil." God specifically teaches us to shut the door on Satan. The old adage that, "If you play with fire, you'll get burned" is so true. As parents, are we wise to the bait and lures of the devil? He is saturating the world with his deceptive methods. He targets the impressionable minds of our youth. Let's not let polluted thoughts fill our children's minds. True love does not tempt.
