HOW QUICKLY WE'LL FORGET!"IF in this life only we have hope in Christ, In Gen. 41:29-31, Joseph spoke of how God was going to send 7 years of plenty, followed by 7 years of drought. He made a very thought-provoking point that the 7 years of famine would quickly cause the years of plenty to be forgotten. We must not throw caution to the wind in making major decisions of life, which can have severe consequences. Success in decisions requires more than a great take-off, a beautiful launch, a smooth flight, and calm waters. It must also provide a favorable end. We must have total confidence in our captain, and also the vessel, that they are capable of a safe and projected landing. Several years ago, some wealthy individuals purchased tickets to fly on the Concorde, only to find they had purchased a crash landing. I have found that most people have a true desire to one day make heaven their eternal landing. Yet, I find that few will take the time to be sure that they have placed their faith in the truth, according to God's Word. There are many "religions" that are very convenient and comfortable now, but have no Biblical basis of getting one to heaven. Prov. 16:25 says, "There is a way that seemeth right unto a man, but the END thereof are the ways of death." Remember how man boasted that the Titanic was virtually unsinkable? How ironic it is that the little life-rafts were the ones that sustained life. Every one of us have a life full of holes, called sin. We were sinking, yet the life-raft, named JESUS, wanted to rescue us. "How shall we escape, if we neglect so great salvation?" Heb. 2:3, are you by FAITH in Him? Thanks and God bless!
