THE GREATEST EXCHANGE"And be found IN him, not having When I came to Iowa some years ago, I was required to take a written drivers license test to receive an Iowa license. Low and behold, I was shocked to discover that the most dangerous sign on the road was not there! Listen, this may save your life. There is a sign on the highways of America, that if you see it (and it can be anywhere), you had better be alert and ready to be a defensive driver. Why? Because this sign drives people absolutely goofy. It is not uniform, nor standard in its postings. You're thinking, "What sign is that?" I'll tell you, and you will agree, GARAGE SALE!! Am I not right? Why are people so wild and crazy over yard sales? Because they feel like they are going to find a great bargain. Let me tell you about the greatest bargain in all the world. In Phil. 3:4-10, Paul shares with us, how he was so impressed with his portfolio of fleshly deeds and birthrights. He was sure that compared to others around him, he was a shoe-in for heaven. But one day he met the Lord Jesus Christ, and he saw the righteousness of God. He instantly put a new value on his so-called assets. He now called them liabilities, with a description of dung in vs. 8. Paul realized that he had almost been deceived in trying to earn his way into heaven. The pride in his accomplishments had soared to record heights because of his measure. But by "...faith of Christ, The righteousness which is of God by faith:" Paul wisely let go of his filth, and received Christ's offer of forgiveness. If we could just get as excited about heaven, as we do GARAGE SALES! Thanks! Pastor Earl Beal |
