SPIRITUAL RIGOR MORTIS"...the spirit indeed is willing, but Here we have a time where our Lord Jesus had asked his disciples to watch and pray, so as not to enter into temptation, only to find them sleeping. How disappointing, yet how human this plight is in the field of service for the Lord. Apostle Paul spoke in Rom. 7:15-25 of his battle with the flesh and even said in vs. 18, "For I know that in me (that is, in my flesh,) dwelleth no good thing:..." In Gal. 5:17, we find a truth in that, "...the flesh lusteth against the Spirit, and Spirit against the flesh: and these are contrary the one to the other:..." Ever notice how many who profess to know Jesus Christ as Savior are asleep? Let me relate this to a deer hunting tip. They tell me that if you wound a deer, not to pursue it, but to wait for about 30 minutes. Why? Because if you wait, the deer will lie down. That will allow the body to stop, and rigor mortis will set in. When the hunter approaches, the deer will turn its head and say, "RUN," and the body will say, "NO." The deer will have the head knowledge, but the flesh will not be willing to move. So many Christians have failed to heed God's warning, to never lie down. Is. 40:31 gives us a beautiful verse to live by, "But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint." It may feel relaxing, but don't be fooled, you're playing into the devil's hand. Let's be ready, so when God says "GO," we don't say "NO!" Don't become another spiritual casualty. Thanks!
