THE MOST EXPENSIVE GIFT EVER GIVEN

"...but the GIFT of God is eternal life
through Jesus Christ our Lord."

In these next few days, millions (billions?) of gifts will be opened with great eagerness and delight. Why? Because we are celebrating the birth of the baby Jesus, who came to earth to give us, what we could not purchase for ourselves. Many will give, and some even sacrificially, to provide gifts to those they love. Christmas is about giving, because God, who loved us, knew even before He created us, in 1 Pet. 1:20, that He would have to purchase us, because of our sin. One thing that God, who is holy and just, cannot do, is turn His back on sin. God can not slip anyone through the "back door", so to speak. God knew what offering eternal life for us would cost Him. What was that price? 1 Pet. 1:8 says, "...ye know that ye were not redeemed with corruptible things, as silver and gold,..." Vs. 19, "But with the precious BLOOD of Christ." Do you realize that God "...spared not his own Son, but delivered him up for us all...", Rom 8:32 tells us. Yet, so many people treat their sin with so little regard, and try to cover it with a few "good deeds", or a "little religious ceremony" and never acknowledge that God had to tap heaven's treasures to pay for the wickedness of mankind. You see, everlasting LIFE was the GIFT, Jesus was the PRICE, that God had to PAY. Won't you by FAITH let God save you, through His Son Jesus? The plan was made, the GIFT is before you, but you must open it. Remember this week, that every GIFT you receive, was FREE to you, at SOMEONE'S expense! The most expensive gift in all the world, was when God purchased everlasting life, for YOU! Merry Christmas!
