HAPPY HOLIDAYS TO WHOM??

"The simple believeth every word: but the
prudent man looketh well to his going." Prov. 14:15

Well, here we are entering the last leg of the year, and unfortunately the most stressful time of year. Why? I think that we could contribute much of it on our own failure to stop and spend time with God and seek His way. So many people are caught up in the "rat race", and before they know it: the situation is controlling them, instead of them controlling the situation. The verse above tells us that a wise man looks ahead and negotiates the curves and bumps that life can bring. Let's look at maybe a few attitudes that could be very dangerous to our children and even our nation.

ATTITUDES OF:

TRYING TO KEEP UP WITH OR AHEAD OF "THE JONESES"

THINKING THAT EVERYONE IS CREATED FINANCIALLY EQUAL

FORGETTING OR NOT KNOWING THE REAL REASON FOR THE SEASON

RAISING INSECURE CHILDREN TO BELIEVE ACCEPTANCE COMES BY FASHION

TRYING TO FILL A VOID IN OUR LIVES THAT ONLY JESUS CHRIST CAN FILL

DISRESPECT AND GUILT TRIPS THAT CHILDREN USE AGAINST PARENTS

A MATERIALISTIC AND JUDGMENTAL SOCIETY THAT PROMOTES FALSE VALUES

Here we have just a few thought-provoking attitudes that might quench a happy holiday. Let's be sure this year to spend time in preparing our hearts to spend the Christmas season in a responsible manner. Let's be sure that we know the real reason we have Christmas and celebrate the birth of our Savior Jesus Christ. Matt. 1:21, "And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name JESUS: for he shall save his people from their sins." Thank you, Jesus, for dying for our sins. Have you called upon Him by faith to be your Savior? God Bless!
