LESSONS OF LIFE!

"For the body is not one member,
but many." I Cor. 12:14

Have you ever noticed that life can throw you some real curves? I was thinking the other day, and divided our life into four (4) stages. The first 20 years we are in STAGE ONE and are told, "You can do it!" The next 20 years is STAGE TWO, and we're told, "Get out there and do it!" The next 20 years is STAGE THREE, and we're told, "Teach them how to do it!" Then we enter the last 20 years of our life, STAGE FOUR, and we're told, "What in the world are doing, you can't do that!" I guess this is why we need a sense of humor and what makes life so interesting. Isn't it great that we're not all in the same stage at the same time? That's why in church we need all ages to bring to the body of Christ a diversity and balance. We need the energy of the youth, the strength of the families, the experience of the grandparents, and the wisdom of the elderly. A great verse which speaks of the church's unity is Eph. 4:16, "From whom the whole body fitly joined together and compacted by that which every joint supplieth, according to the effectual working in the measure of every part, maketh increase of the body unto the edifying of itself in love." Every person in God's church is just as important to God as the next. God has no trophies in his church, and in I Cor. 12:22 He says, "...much more those members of the body, which seem to be more feeble are necessary." Samuel told King Saul that "When thou wast little in thine own sight, wast thou not made the head..." I Sam. 15:17. Let's remember the song that goes, "Little is much, when God is in it...!"
