CULTIVATING A MARRIAGE!

"Whoso findeth a wife findeth a good thing,
and obtaineth favour of the Lord." Prov. 18:24

Do you realize that the home is the oldest institution on earth? We wonder why the world is in such turmoil and disorder, when the truth is that few homes have learned to have that sweet harmony of peace that translates into joy and longevity. The Bible shares with us the blessings that a Godly wife is to a marriage. To have a wife that is trustworthy and "...will do him good and not evil all the days of her life." Prov. 31:12 We also find the sad fact of "Who can find a virtuous woman? For her price is far above rubies." A Godly and faithful wife is a rare find and one to be cherished. I want to give you a few suggestions that can help us in a marriage to grow it for the Lord.

Convey to your spouse how much you appreciate them--people want to be appreciated!

Try to always see the BIG picture and not just the LITTLE picture--there are others involved!

Seek God's way, as He wouldn't have given us HIS Word if we had the answers--wisdom is sweet!

Remember that when you're married, two become one, so there is no longer sides--it's singular!

Recognize problems early and don't seek counsel in the 15th round with a 9 count--too late!

Everyone has baggage that they bring into a marriage. Bury it and leave it buried--be forgiving!

Marriage is a 100/100 not a 50/50 with a dividing line to be quarreled over--give your all, not half!

Remember how little you know without God and never try to make it alone--go to church together!

Here we have some wisdom to guide us. But always remember that if nothing is changed, nothing changes.

Thanks! Pastor Earl Beal
