POWER OF negative THINKING!

"Blessed is the man who walketh not in
the counsel of the ungodly..." Prov. 1:1

I want us to think for a moment about the power and protection of negative thinking! We Live in a day where we believe that "mind over matter" will change reality and truth! No wonder we have so many troubled and depressed lives. We have been taught that if you change your thinking, it won't matter about the truth and facts of a situation. Don't take what I'm saying as wrong. I believe in looking at things in a constructive and positive manner; yet I believe that warnings, boundaries, and structures are a plus, even though it is on the negative side of things. For example, have you ever thought about how negative our vehicles are today? They are filled with warnings! We have lights, gauges, belts, labels, and buzzers built into our vehicles, warning us of potential hazards. Can you imagine having a car with no warnings? Actually, we come to appreciate them knowing that their warnings, even as unpleasant as the event may be, makes a bad situation better with them, than without them. Our car has a light that comes on when one of the tires go below 20 lbs. of pressure. I'm no different than anyone eles in that I don't enjoy tire problems, but let me tell you something I enjoy a low tire far more than I enjoy a flat tire! That gauge is my friend, that can help me take a problem and keep it at a more repairable state. Our spiritual lives are the same way. The Word of God tells us many things which we're not to do, and places we're not to go, and people we're not to listen to, so that we can take potential problems and avoid, minimize, or even eliminate them. Prov. 4:14 and 15 says, "Enter not into the path of the wicked, and go not in the way of evil men. Avoid it, pass not by it, turn from it, and pass away."
