HEROES EVERYDAY!"I am doing a great work, so that I remember growing up as a young boy of disagreeing that "everyone has a price". They never knew my Dad, his convictions were not for sale. I am thankful to have lived around a man who loved the Lord so much. His walk with God had convinced me that power, prosperity, promotion, pleasure or anything else wouldn't cause my Dad to change his loyalty to God. We have too many Christians that put God First until something else comes up. We seem to think that God understands being last. I have often said that if we would treat the world, how we treat God, the world wouldn't seem so kind and understanding. Go to work as faithfully as you go to church. Get offended at work as easily as you do in church. Contribute at work as much as you do at church. Follow orders at work as well as you follow orders from God. You see, Nehemiah in Chapter 6, was enticed to go meet with some ungodly dignitaries. Nehemiah seen through them. He called them his enemies. He knew that God's call was the highest call and greatest work possible to man. He never saw this invitation as a promotion, but a demotion. Nehemiah knew how to say, NO! Five (5) times the enemy approached Nehemiah. The old devil is persistant. Yet in vs. 12, Nehemiah perceived that God had not sent them. Nehemiah avoided a 911. 911's make heroes, but at a very high cost! If we could ask the casualties, I'm sure they would have rather that the Intelligence had avoided this horrible event. I notice that our President's opinion poll is much lower "in the work" of avoiding "911's," than dealing "after the fact" of a 911. Let's pray for our leaders, that they will have the wisdom and perceive what is of God and what is not. Let's learn to appreciate our firemen, policemen, and military in peace time as well as in war or tragedy. God Bless! Thanks! Pastor Earl Beal |
